It's official. I'm going to Australia, and believe it or not, in less than 3 months I'll be stepping spending over 14 hours on a flight from Los Angeles to Brisbane (not to mention the extra 3 or 4 hours to get to L.A.) I have a feeling the time is going to fly by, and I will honestly be gone before I know it. I'm nervous and excited already, but there's still so many things to do to prepare for this. I doubt I'll ever be prepared.
So here's the deal; I'll be gone from July 13th to November 23rd (give or take a day) and I'll be spending most of it in Townsville, Australia. In case you've never heard of it, Townsville is in Queensland, which is the northeast section of Australia. And it's costal. Think Great Barrier Reef. (awesome!) I'll be studying at James Cook University, and I'll be taking some pretty cool sounding biology classes, and hopefully a photography class too. I think this is the first semester ever that I'm really excited for class.
I can't wait to get there, but at the same time, I sooo don't want to leave all my friends and family behind. Going into a study abroad program alone just makes me think about all the love I'll be missing here; between my amazing family up at the lake, my family of friends out at school and all my actual blood relatives, there are just so many important people in my life! I'm going to miss everyone so much! But the decision has been made, so I think I'll have to start accepting the fact that I'm leaving, and really just need to focus on having a fun time while I'm gone.
So whats next... I think packing will be the hardest part, next to saying goodbye. And getting a Visa... not really sure how that works. Oh well.
Keep in touch, and I'll keep you posted!!
